In Emery County
Substance Abuse Services
Substance abuse assessment services are available to anyone (adults or teens) in Emery County who desires this service or is deemed to be in need of this service. Ongoing substance treatment is contingent on the outcome of the substance abuse assessment. The purpose of substance abuse treatment is to educate the consumer about his or her substance problem/addiction, initiate a plan of treatment and carry out that plan in a dignified manner so that the consumer can live successfully in the community.
Who is eligible: Anyone residing in Emery County is eligible for substance abuse services.
Fees: Fees are set on a sliding scale based on income and household size. Most insurances that pay for substance treatment services are accepted including Medicaid.
How to access these services: You can simply call the center at 1-435-381-2432 during working hours for an appointment. If after hours you feel that you are in a crisis you can call the crisis number 1-435-381-2432 or 911 to be immediately connected with a therapist. Or you can come by the office at 45 East 100 South in Castle Dale to make an appointment.
What to expect: When you come in for an appointment you must complete the required application/paper work that will include a simple questionnaire about how you are feeling/doing. You will then be assigned to one of the Substance Abuse Counselors for an assessment. The assessment will include a minimum of two tests (ASI and SASSI) as well as a history of your substance abuse. This counselor may or may not be your ongoing counselor based on the exact substance abuse problem. If accepted into the program you will then be required to attend and be involved in the Intensive Out Patient Substance Abuse Program (IOP). This is a group that meets in the evening four nights a week. AA and or NA is an important part of this program as are frequent and random UA's.
