Description of Service Area
Carbon, Grand and Emery Counties are rural areas with a combined area of 9,612
square miles and an average population density of 6.2 persons per square mile.
The service area has a total population of 39,925 persons according to the U.S.
Department of HHS, HRSA Community Health Status Report with 12% being minorities.
The area is surrounded by mountains, National Parks, canyons and impassable
land areas and has limited highway and public transportation access to larger
population centers.
Services Provided
During FY2001, FCCBH, Inc. provided 66,634 hours of service in 46,436 contacts
to 2,076 individuals. 33% of individuals served were children and 67% adults.
While the Four Corners service area has 1.88% of the State's population, the
agency serves 4.78% of all public mental health recipients in Utah.
